Here is the question!!!! Why do some people wait until it is too late to fix a problem. Do you know what I mean? People stay in unhealthy relationships until someone goes to jail, gets hurt real bad or loses their kids before they move on, IF they move on. People let the check engine light and oil light stay on until they end up on the side of the road. People eat junk their entire life, even years after they are informed by a medical professional to change their dietary habits. Then the end up on insulin and still do not change the way they eat. So TODAY, not tomorrow WE are all going to change for the better. WE are NOT going to WAIT until it is too LATE to care about our well being. The time is NOW so lets learn HOW!
If people did one simple thing... this wait until it is to late would never be an issue. People need to just do what they say they are going to do. How many times have YOU said "I am going to go to the gym every day" or " I am not going to eat better"????Then that same day we miss the gym or we have something we said we were not going to have. Each time we repeat this process we become less and less effected by the fact we did not stay true to our word. It is as if we become desensitized to giving up or not having the will power to resist temptation. Let's look at a strategy for both activity consistency and healthy nutrition.
Lets begin with consistent activity because in my opinion this is easier than nutrition. Spend the money! Start by paying for some type of program that has a trainer. It could be one on one or group training. If you care about how you spend your money the way I do you will get your moneys worth, plus. It is easy to pay a 10 dollar gym membership and not show up. Pay 150 or 300 dollars and not show up!! You either have money to burn or have a long way to go to change your mind, body and soul. Also join with a friend who is already actively consistent with their exercise habits. This will give you a model and someone to help push you during those time you lack motivation.
Nutrition... abs are made in the kitchen not the gym. Nutrition is a complex situation. Convenience and price typical trump quality. This is how I improved my eating habits. I stopped eating sugar. I still eat natural sugar and will have cookies and cake from time to time however I stopped added process sugar to anything and stopped drinking soda. Basically what I am saying is that you should start by taking one unhealthy substance out of your cabinets. I do not care if your kids like it, they will benefit from your dietary changes too. If when we were kids we were never exposed to all the good tasting bad foods out their many of us would not be in the position we are in today. Save you children... So they will never be in the position of waiting until it is too late!!!
