Don't let everyday life halt your forward progress
Life will consume you! It is not fair and it has the power to destroy people both mentally and physically. I am a prime example. Without details I will say that the mirror is the first place you must look when life swallows you whole and spits you back out with a different mind and in some cases a different shape. Keep in mind that when you point the finger at others there are three fingers pointing right back at you. Wasted energy represents potential. It could have potentially been used to accomplish a task that was established.
How many of us live up to their full potential? I know I have not and still do not. However I understand that I am a work in progress and will be till life ends. Are you content with being average? What is average? Average is doing enough to get by... Potential differs from person to person because we are all unique individuals with different genetic ceilings. So competition should be self vs. self. Try this moving forward. Each day become a better you in every possible way. Progress will be made if you become better today than you were yesterday and turn that process into an ongoing cycle.
How does all this information tie into fitness? Fitness is about YOU! Fitness is a part of life and its value differs from person to person. Unfortunately people would rather look good than feel good. That is the reason why fitness gimmicks successfully make money but don't get results and truly do not promote health. People would rather buy a body than work for it! Processes build character. I have to admit my fitness journey began with getting in basketball shape again. The goal was to be able to play as if I was 18 again at age 35 and look like I was that age as well. During the process I discovered the goal was not as important as the process to achieve the goal. Eventually I stopped playing basketball altogether on a daily basis because I wanted more and more out of me. I became addicted to competing against me. I look at a goal the same way I look at buying a home. The process is what allows you to get the home (savor it). It's living in the home and enjoying what you have earned that makes buying the home special. If I lost you and I may have I will say it like this... When the goal is shallow, like just wanting to look good, the process will be overlooked and even when you achieve the goal it will be easy to lose all you earned. But if you want to be a better person overall when you achieve your goal you will continue to maintain and or improve 4EVER.....
FITNESS HAS CHANGED MY LIFE IN A VARIETY OF POSITIVE WAYS AND I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCES WITH THOSE WHO WANT TO LIVE A LIFE THAT EMBRACES EACH CHALLENGE AND DOES NOT LET FEAR DETOUR OPPORTUNITIES IN THE FUTURE.
